Really awesome little book.
Good book
This is a truly comprehensive look at owning, training, feeding, and generally caring for that loving breed commonly known as a Sheltie. There are things you may be overlooking with caring for your pet, and that reason alone is enough to buy this book. Don't miss this one if you love or are loved by a Sheltie.
Now that my Belgian sheepdog has passed on, I'm looking for another sheepdog. My neighbor raises border collies and I love the temperament and personality of sheepdogs. I've been shopping around and looking at different breeds of sheepdogs, so when I saw this book, I thought it would be a great place to research Shelties.
This book is so comprehensive that when I shop for a Sheltie I find I don't have to ask any questions and often I'm more knowledgeable than the seller. I still haven't made up my mind, but it's not for lack of information about Shelties.
If you are looking for a sheepdog, or if you own a Sheltie, you can't go wrong with this book. You're bound to learn something of value about your dog from this comprehensive book.
This book barely covers the basics about this wonderful breed. If you are looking for "how to" don't buy this book.
I grew up on a sheep ranch in Montana and this book gave me some valuable insight into the things that Queenie, my father's herding dog did. She was one of the best at her herding duties and to watch her fly over the range caring and herding the flock was a thing of beauty. Great information and knowledge about every area of this special dog breed.
